German-style cucumber salad in a bowl

Creamy, fresh, and authentically German.

Fresh Ingredients

The key to a perfect German cucumber salad is the balance of crunchy cucumbers, a rich creamy dressing, and aromatic fresh dill. Use the highest quality Eagle spices for that authentic heritage taste.

The Cucumber

2 large English cucumbers

1 tsp fine sea salt

Garnish & Herb

1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped

Eagle All Purpose  Seasoning

Creamy Dressing

1/2 cup sour cream

2 tbsp white vinegar

1 tbsp granulated sugar

1/4 tsp black pepper

Cooking Directions

01

Thinly Slice Cucumbers

Peel the cucumbers (optional) and slice them into paper-thin rounds using a mandoline or sharp knife for even consistency.

02

Salt and Sweating

Place slices in a colander, sprinkle generously with salt, and toss. Let sit for 30 minutes to draw out excess moisture.

03

Drain and Dry

Rinse slightly and pat the cucumbers completely dry with paper towels. This ensures the dressing remains thick and creamy.

04

Prepare the Dressing

In a large bowl, whisk together sour cream, white vinegar, sugar, and plenty of fresh chopped dill until combined.

05

Chill and Serve

Toss the cucumbers in the dressing, season with black pepper, and refrigerate for at least one hour to let flavors meld.
